Sarab is located in the north-west of Iran. Sarab borders the Tabriz district to the west, Ardebil to the east and Ahar to the north. Sarabs, which are made with the Turkish knot, are extremely hard-wearing and durable carpets thanks to a rich knot, double weft and a thick wool pile.
