Yalameh is located in western central Iran and belongs to the knotting area of Isfahan (also: Esfahan). The center of the Yalameh knotting area is in the city of Talkumcheh, where the carpets are mostly knotted by Ghashgai semi-nomads. The pattern is usually dominated by tasteful squares or diamonds. A characteristic feature of Yalameh carpets is also the colorfulness. Typical color combinations are royal blue, deep red and a subtle green. All in all, a cultivated nomadic carpet of above-average fineness. The knotting usually consists of the Persian knot.
